April 7, 2005—StopTech has launched two new versions of its popular Balanced Brake Kit for the 2005+ Chrysler 300/300C and Dodge Magnum RWD models, giving street and track drivers of these stylish, high-end vehicles an enviable advantage in braking control and stopping distance improvement. The new upgrade kits, which are available in both front- and four-wheel versions, and are based on StopTech's innovative ST-40 calipers, which virtually eliminate distortion, and the company's patented AeroRotors®, which increase air flow to the outside face of the rotors by 50-100%. These kits offer significant advantages in braking, as well as providing a powerful visual impact, fit within the stock 18" wheels. StopTech's patented AeroRotors®, which feature a unique vane design and directional hat combine to dissipate heat up to 80% better than original equipment rotors, and 10-30% better than any other directional, vaned racing rotor currently on the market. The ST-40 caliper's stiffened, bolt-in bridge, virtually eliminates distortion under severe braking, while aiding cooling via its integral air channel. The four-wheel Big Brake Kit features four 355mm(14”) x 32mm(1.5”) floating directional AeroRotors® with 7075 T-6 billet aluminum directional hats, four ST-40 four-piston calipers, four billet aluminum caliper adapter brackets, four sets of high-performance brake pads, and StopTech’s DOT-compliant stainless steel braided front and rear brake lines. The front-wheel Big Brake Kit features two 355mm(14”) x 32mm(1.5”) floating, directional AeroRotors® with 7075 T-6 billet aluminum directional hats, two ST-40 four-piston calipers, two billet aluminum caliper adapter brackets, two sets of high-performance brake pads, and StopTech’s DOT-compliant stainless steel braided front brake lines. Every StopTech Balanced Brake Upgrade™ achieves optimum front-to-rear brake torque balance through custom sizing of the caliper pistons for each platform. This is in contrast to competitive systems, which use off-the-shelf calipers, with fixed piston sizes, for a wide range of vehicles. Benefits of a Balanced Brake System™ include shorter stopping distances, better modulation characteristics, and reduced pedal travel. The retail prices for StopTech Balanced Brake Upgrades™ with red, silver or black calipers and slotted rotors are as follows:
Dodge
Drilled rotors are available for an additional $50 per rotor, and blue or yellow painted calipers are available for an additional $200 per pair. StopTech, located in Torrance, California, manufactures high performance brake systems and components for production and production-based racecars.
