Torrance, Calif-- In December of 2002, StopTech LLC announced a series of brake upgrade kits for the 2003 Nissan 350Z as the latest addition to its line of Balanced Brake upgrades. StopTech released two front-upgrade systems and a four-wheel upgrade for the 350Z. (See related Press Release.)

The following are the results of our on track testing, all performed on the same day. We had two 2003 Nissan 350Zs, one was a Performance Model and the other a Track Model. Tires, wheels, and pads were as delivered Original Equipment (optional 18 inch wheels on the Performance Model.) We tested the stock Performance Model then mounted our 332mm front kit and then our 355mm front kit using Axxis Ultimate pads with stock rear. The Track Model was tested unmodified. We performed 20 stops per car.

As always, the StopTech Aerorotor® ran cooler than the OE rotors. After 20 stops, the 355mm Aerorotor® was 127 degrees (F) cooler than the Track Model. This was measured by a contact pyrometer immediately after each car made its 20th stop. The 332mm Aerorotor® was 26 degrees cooler than the Track Model and 109 degrees cooler than the Performance Model.

The StopTech Nissan 350Z balanced brake upgrade maintains optimum front to rear brake torque balance and is compatible with the stock master cylinder. StopTech achieves optimum front to rear balance by sizing the caliper pistons specifically for the 350Z versus other systems that use off the shelf calipers designed for different platforms. Benefits of balanced brake systems are shorter stopping distances, better brake pedal modulation and less pedal travel.

The retail price for the Nissan 350Z 4-wheel 355mm Brake System is $4,495. The retail price for the front 350Z 332mm upgrade is $1,995. The retail price for the front 350Z 355mm upgrade is $2,595.
