Torrance, Calif--StopTech announces availability of an innovative new line of High Performance four piston, radial mount Aluminum Brake Calipers. The ST-40 line of calipers feature StopTech’s unique, patent pending bolt-in bridge. The bridge was designed using finite element analysis (FEA) modeling software. As a result of this extensive design effort, caliper distortion is virtually eliminated. The benefits of eliminating distortion are better brake performance less vibration, noise and pad taper. The bridge also has a unique air channel designed to help air flow though the retainer, resulting in better cooling. The three-piece caliper bodies are machined from aircraft quality permanent mold castings. The caliper sections also feature a bolt through design for maximum strength. The external crossover pipe is insulated to resist vibration.

The ST-40 is available in 28mm and 32mm versions and works with 313mm to 355mm diameter rotors.

A unique optional feature of the ST-40 is the availability of 8 different piston diameters, enabling more piston combinations than any other manufacturer. Brake upgrade designers can match the caliper piston areas to the target vehicle’s master cylinder for optimum pedal travel and brake modulation. All standard caliper configurations feature differential bores to minimize pad taper. The pistons are hard-anodized aluminum, which expands at the same rate as the caliper body and provides excellent resistance to heat transference. Dust boots are standard and the ST-40 uses pressure seals that retract the pistons insuring no off brake disc drag. Standard finish is hard black anodized. Red, and black painted versions are available.

The ST40 is designed to use readily available FMSI # 372 brake pads that include provision for a wear sensor.
