For: Immediate Release Date: January 7, 2004 Contact: Robert Lee Torrance, Calif--During recent Grand-Am Cup testing, the Istook/Aines Motorsports Audi S4 consistently set fastest lap times. Don Istook has amassed a sterling group of drivers for 2004 including Randy Pobst, the 2003 World Challenge GT Champion. Team driver Anders Hainer posted the fastest time of the four day testing period with a 2:05.934 lap at 101.768 mph in the StopTech equipped #04 Audi S4. Rounding out the driving roster for the Istook/Aines Motorsports team are Blake Rosser, who was consistently fast all three days, as well as team owner Don Istook. Randy Pobst set the fastest time of the Sunday testing session. “The StopTech brakes did an excellent job of hauling the car down from 160 mph twice every lap without any fade,” said Pobst. “I could confidently brake late down to the 100 marker in turn one. This is outstanding braking performance for a production-based racecar.” Don Istook, 2002 Grand-Am Cup winner at Mont-Tremblant, has been using the StopTech system for three years. “The first time I ran them, I immediately noticed a firmer pedal and better brake modulation,” said Istook. “StopTech is the best brake system by far for my car… The StopTech rotor longevity surpasses other rotors I have used… With our outstanding driver line up in two cars, we look forward to a highly successful season in Grand-Am Cup.” The Istook/Aines Audi S4 uses a standard, off-the-shelf StopTech front 332mm brake upgrade that is engineered to work with the Audi RS4 rear rotors and stock S4 rear calipers. StopTech LLC, located in Torrance, California, manufactures high performance brake systems and components for production and production-based racecars.
