Torrance, Calif--StopTech LLC announces a brake upgrade kit for the Mini Cooper and Mini Cooper S as the latest addition to its “Balanced brake Upgrades”.

The front brake upgrade system includes a pair of 328x28mm directional high performance AeroRotors ® with 7075 T-6 billet aluminum directional hats, a pair of four piston high performance ST-40 calipers, adapter brackets, high performance brake pads and front DOT compliant stainless steel braided brake lines. The StopTech Mini Cooper kit is a direct bolt on replacement of the stock front system and requires 17 inch wheels.

Incorporating a unique patent pending directional vane design, the two-piece AeroRotors® provide dramatically improved induced airflow (over 60%) versus the straight vane stock rotor. Higher induced airflow means lower operating temperatures under normal and aggressive driving conditions. Our Lower operating temperatures mean longer pad and rotor life, and a brake system that dramatically reduces fade. AeroRotor features a proprietary cast iron formula that resists cracking and fatigue. The two-piece AeroRotor includes a floating hat system that resists coning during heating and cooling cycles.

The ST-40 caliper utilizes a patent pending bridge that makes the caliper up to two times stiffer than similar designs.

The StopTech Mini Cooper balanced brake upgrade maintains optimum front to rear brake torque balance and is compatible with the stock master cylinder. StopTech achieves optimum front to rear balance by sizing the caliper pistons specifically for the Mini Cooper versus competitive systems that use off the shelf calipers designed for different platforms. Benefits of balanced brake systems are shorter stopping distances, better brake pedal modulation and less pedal travel.

The retail price for the Mini Cooper Brake System with black anodized calipers is $1695. Red or black painted calipers are a $200 extra cost option.
