November 1, 2005—STOPTECH LLC announces a brake upgrade kit for the 2006 Dodge and Chrysler SRT-8 models, as the latest addition to its line of Balanced Brake Upgrades®. The new four wheel brake system includes a pair of 380x32mm front and a pair of 355x32mm rear, two-piece AeroRotors® with 7075 T-6 billet aluminum directional AeroHats, 6-piston ST-60 front calipers, 4-piston ST-40 rear calipers, billet aluminum adapter brackets, ceramic high performance street brake pads, and DOT-compliant stainless steel braided brake lines. The StopTech SRT-8 four-wheel kit is a direct bolt-on replacement for the stock system and is fully compatible with ABS.

StopTech ST-60 and ST-40 calipers are squeeze forged and feature a patented, removable bridge design that makes them the stiffest calipers available in the aftermarket.

The two-piece StopTech floating AeroRotor® system resists coning during the repeated heat cycles generated by aggressive track use. Each AeroRotor assembly includes patent-pending directional AeroHats that induce additional airflow over the outer surface of the AeroRotor friction ring, and coupled with the patented AeroRotor vane design, have the best overall induced rotor airflow available. Better airflow improves braking performance and extends pad and rotor life.

The StopTech balanced brake upgrade for the SRT-8 establishes optimum front to rear brake torque balance and is compatible with the stock master cylinder and ABS. StopTech achieves this by sizing calipers specifically for the SRT-8, as opposed to competitive systems that use off-the-shelf calipers designed for different platforms. Benefits of a balanced system include shorter stopping distances, better brake pedal modulation, and less pedal travel. An anti-corrosion gold zinc coating is available on all StopTech AeroRotors.

Drilled rotors are available for an additional $50 per rotor, and blue, gold or yellow painted calipers are available for an additional $200 per pair.
