PRESS RELEASE

StopTech Awarded TÜV Certificate for Mini Cooper

For: Immediate Release     Date: March 19, 2004    Contact: Robert Lee

Torrance, Calif--StopTech LLC announces that it has received TüV approval on its Mini Cooper front Balanced Brake UpgradeTM and the immediate availability of the kit in Germany and other countries requiring TüV certification. The StopTech kit successfully passed TüV’s demanding series of tests that range from performance and durability, to proper fitment and ease of installation. Although TüV certification is not required in all countries, the TüV approval demonstrates that StopTech High Performance Brake Systems meet the rigorous standards set by this respected German Agency.

TüV requires that kits for each application be individually certified. StopTech chose to certify the Mini Cooper kit first because of its popularity and the number of Mini tuners in the European market. Kits for the Volkswagen Golf, Audi TT and S3, and Toyota MR2 are the next kits to go through the certification process. StopTech will decide future priority of which kits will be certified based on demand from resellers and customers.

StopTech holds themselves to a high level of performance, quality and durability. StopTech currently has Balanced Brake UpgradesTM for hundreds of applications and looks forward to TüV certification on more of its kits this year.

StopTech Balanced Brake UpgradesTM includes two ST-40 forged aluminum calipers, two two-piece 328x28mm floating AeroRotors®, caliper adapter brackets, stainless steel braided brake lines, and high performance street pads.

The two-piece StopTech AeroRotor® assembly includes a floating hat system that resists coning during heating and cooling cycles. The patented vane design features innovations on trailing and leading edges that optimize airflow through the rotor. The result is 10-30% better airflow than other directional vaned racing rotors available. StopTech patent-pending directional hats induce more airflow over the outer surface of the rotors, providing additional cooling, extending pad life, and improving overall system performance – all very important factors in the racing environment. The ST-40 caliper features a patented bridge that makes it up to two times stiffer than similar designs, improving pedal feel and brake-torque reaction.
