StopTech Equipped VW Golf GTI V Club Sport by BBM Motorsport
by Frank A. Filipponio | Oct 19, 2012

What you see here is a nicely modified Mk V Volkswagen GTI, and its owner, Andrea Friedrich. Most tuner magazine photo spreads that feature pretty ladies use professional models who have little or nothing to do with the cars that they are posing with. That's not the case here, but a little about the car first.

German aftermarket and racing tuner BBM Motorsport did the conversion of this hot hatch into a case of freezer burn.

They call this their Club Sport tune and it includes a series of upgrades to the 2.0-liter TSI engine that range from a new turbocharger, to a big double-DIN charge air cooler and a custom exhaust system which together lift output from a respectable 197 hp to a much more spirited 331 hp.

The Club Sport package also uses a StopTech big brake kit with two-piece 355 x 32 mm discs and 4-piston calipers, as well as a KW Club Sport coilover suspension with adjustable strut bearings, 18-inch lightweight TEC-rims by ASA wrapped in semi-slick Federal 595RS-R 225/40-18 tires.

The car can now hit 171 mph according to BBM, and it looks good doing it. The car's exterior is wrapped in a matte-baby blue foil with a flat black hood, while the interior features a race-spec roll cage and a pair of racing bucket seats.

Now about that owner...

Apart from being a qualified real estate agent and having won the Miss Yamaha 2012 and Monster Energy Girl titles, the 23-year-old Friedrich has also obtained an "A" racing license so she can run in the Nürburgring long distance series. What a potent combo. Check them out in the video clip below.
