Alton, Virginia  (May 16, 2011) – Bill Auberlen and Paul Dalla Lana scored their fourth podium finish in a row behind the wheel of the StopTech-equipped No. 96 Turner Motorsport BMW M3 this weekend at the Bosch Engineering 200 held at Virginia International Speedway. Their second-place performance during Round 4 of the Continental Tire 2011 Grand-Am Sports Car Challenge season extends their lead in the GS class to 21 points over the nearest challenger.

"The team has worked very hard the whole off season and it's paying off," said Dalla Lana, who serves double duty driving in both the GS and GT class for Turner Motorsports. "It's a pleasure to get results and we're pushing to continue."

The four-for-four season includes a Round 2 victory at the KIA 200 in Miami and has made for a stellar premiere of StopTech's newest racing innovation, the StopTech GT Racing caliper. Loaded with engineering optimized for endurance racing, The StopTech GT Racing caliper made its official debut with Turner Motorsport in Round 1 and has been thriving in the tough environment of 200+ mile races, despite the rough braking demands that courses like the 3.27 mile, 17-turn Virginia International Raceway present.

Auberlen was holding the lead with just 5 minutes to go before pulling a wide turn that let the No. 61 Roush Performance Ford Mustang slip by and eventually win with Turner Motorsport less than two seconds behind. Auberlen did register the fastest lap of the race along the way, delivering a 95.595 mph loop compared to the field average of 73.199 mph.

The race will air on SPEED this Sunday, May 22, at 1pm EST. The next stop for the Continental Tire Grand-Am series is the historic Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Conn., to participate in the traditional Memorial Day weekend event on Saturday, May 28.

The StopTech GT Racing caliper pulls features from both the original StopTech ST series calipers and the company's top-of-the-line Trophy STR racing calipers. It features StopTech's patented bolt-in bridge technology which reinforces the caliper, virtually eliminates distortion, provides slots to enhance cooling airflow, and allows changing brake pads without disturbing the caliper’s mounting. The calipers are machined from billet and sport a natural anodized finish that is impervious to color change at the continuous high temperatures experienced during race conditions.
