Team StopTech Gears Up For Miller Motorsports Park Action

Jack Baldwin Wins Pirelli World Challenge Long Beach Grand Prix presented by StopTech

Following World Challenge GTS Win and 4th place finish in GT in Long Beach, Team StopTech Carries Momentum into Utah

Industry, Calif., April 25, 2012 – Following a memorable performance in the Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) Long Beach Grand Prix presented by StopTech, in which Jack Baldwin put the No. 68 Voodoo Ride/ Invoice Prep/Hot Wheels GTSport Racing Porsche Cayman S on the top step of the podium in GTS, and GMG Racing’s James Sofronoas (No. 14) and StopTech’s own Dino Crescentini  (No. 4) finished a strong fourth and seventh respectively in GT, “Team StopTech” (the loose affiliation of teams running StopTech, Power Slot and Centric Parts brake components) is set to build on its momentum in the next round of the championship at Miller Motorsports Park outside Salt Lake City.

Sofronas is currently fourth overall in the Grand Touring (GT) standings, while Baldwin has moved up to third in Grand Touring Sport (GTS). With their success at Long Beach, both drivers will carry extra “reward weight” at Miller, which is the polar opposite of the tight street courses the cars ran in rounds one through three this year. At 3.1 miles long Miller is in fact the largest track the PWC visits this season.

While Baldwin, Sofronas and Crescentini are all running Porsches this year (Cayman S for the first and 911 GT3 Cup for the other two), several other makes will also be representing StopTech at Miller Motorsports Park this weekend. The GoPro/StopTech/Eibach/ 425 Motorsport G-Speed Ferrari F430GT (No. 77) of David Welch will try to continue building on its streak of three top-ten finishes to start the season, while the CRP Racing Nissan GT-Rs of Mike Skeen (No. 2) and Jason Daskalos (No. 12) hope to move up the charts.

In GTS, Baldwin is still elated after winning his first GTS race, and anticipates another strong finish at Miller. Also sporting StopTech brakes in GTS are rookies Andy Lee (No. 20) and Harry Curtin (No. 29) in their Best IT/Bondurant Camaros, as well as Don Istook (No. 01) in the Revo Technik The Arc/Audi Racing TT RS, which supports The Arc Maryland charitable organization for persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.

Touring Car (TC) is back in action at Miller after skipping Long Beach, with several top competitors in the field wearing StopTech, Power Slot or Centric Parts brake components. Leading the charge will be Robb Holland (No. 88) in the Caban Motorsports Emich VW/StopTech/3zero3 Mtrsprts VW Jetta GLI.

This fourth GT/GTS round of the PWC season at Miller Motorsports Park takes place on Saturday, April 28 at 4:35 p.m. ET, while TC and the new TC B-Spec class run Sunday at 1:25 p.m. ET.
