This series requires use of the stock master brake cylinder and stock rear brakes. The Turner BMW is out braking Porsche 996 and 997, Cadillac CTSV and a Ford Factory backed effort in two Ford Mustangs with a 332mm/4 piston off-the-shelf big brake kit from StopTech.

October 2004 — Bill Auberlen in the #1 Turner Racing BMW 325i won the 2004 World Challenge Touring Car Championship running a completely standard StopTech Big Brake Kit. This was in spite of 250 pounds of “Reward Weight” having been added to his car. Weight is added to keep the series competitive making the championship come down to the last race.

“I needed consistent and reliable equipment to win this championship,” said Auberlen. “And that is exactly what StopTech gave me. I won the Championship running the same StopTech brake system you can purchase for your street car.”

Mazda 6 Takes Podium with StopTech

Road America, September 2004 — Through some talented driving, Jeff Altenburg diced through the pack from ninth place to fourth at the finish line, while setting the second fastest lap time during the Road America race in the SCCA Speed World Challenge Touring Car Series.

“It was awesome, great pedal feel, braking capability, and the brake system was rock-solid consistent throughout the entire race,” exclaimed Altenburg. “At Road America with a race that had no yellows, that is saying something!”

Altenburg went on to say, “There was never a question of how the car was going to feel when braking at the threshold. NOBODY was out braking me, especially into Turn Five, running from top speed of around 140MPH to a slow second gear turn braking downhill, it was awesome and consistent every time!”

Unitech Racing 350Z Wins Mid-Ohio with StopTech AeroRotor Direct Replacement Kits

Mid-Ohio, August 2004 — With the use of the StopTech AeroRotor® Direct Replacement Kit (DRK), the Unitech Racing team placed 1st and 3rd in the Grand-Am Cup Series Mid-Ohio 250 and produced the first North American professional series win for the Nissan 350Z.

Once the AeroRotors® were installed, the team noticed an immediate improvement. In the first time out, lap times dropped dramatically, allowing the #33 car to clock its fastest time of the race weekend. The drivers found they could brake deeper and gained a 0.5 second per lap advantage with the StopTech equipment.

“We could not believe that rotors could make such a difference,” said Jackson Stewart, owner of the Unitech Racing team. “We contribute 50 percent of our win to the StopTech AeroRotors.”
